San Diego, CA – Woman Dies after Violent Collision with a Semi-Truck on Emerald Avenue

San Diego, CA (August 1, 2018) – The San Diego County Sheriff-Coroner sadly confirmed that a woman was killed during a violent collision with a semi-truck along 1600 Emerald Avenue. The accident occurred at approximately 1:19 PM in the afternoon on Sunday, July 29, 2018. No detailed information concerning the identities of the 52-year old victim, the driver of the truck, or any other people involved in the accident has been revealed at this time.

Based on primary police reports, the unidentified pedestrian woman had been standing or walking near a semi-truck that was parked near Emerald Avenue. At this time, the driver had been cleared to deliver products to a nearby store and shifted into drive, ultimately catching the pedestrian in the rear tires.

Sometime later, rescue teams rushed to the crash site to administer aid to the woman. Despite utilizing emergency procedures, paramedics were not able to revive the woman. Officials marked her death at a little later at 1:33 PM in the afternoon.
