San Diego, CA – Three Children Injured after Traffic Accident on Westbound 8 Freeway

San Diego, CA (July 10, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that a traffic accident took place on the westbound lanes of 8 Freeway in the vicinity of West Mission Bay Drive. The incident occurred at approximately 1:35 PM in the afternoon on Saturday, July 7, 2018. Authorities have not revealed any detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the accident at this time.

According to the CHP report, a black Chevrolet Aveo and two unidentified vehicles were traveling down the 8 Freeway when, for indeterminate reasons, the three vehicles collided near West Mission Bay. As a result of the impact, the vehicles blocked the freeway lanes and one released fluid on the roadway.

Rescue teams including paramedics reported that three children sustained injuries from the impact and one child stuck in the Aveo had been bleeding. Officials did not specify if the children were treated on site or at a hospital.

Law enforcement dispatched tow truck teams to clear the wreckage from the freeway.

As of now, the investigation is ongoing.
