San Diego County, CA – Two Seriously Injured in DUI Crash on 5 Freeway

San Diego County, CA (January 25, 2019) – In San Diego County on Saturday morning, two people were seriously injured in a DUI crash that took place on the 5 Freeway.

Officers responded to the scene and said that a white sedan pulled to the shoulder on the 5 Freeway when one occupant exited the vehicle. A black vehicle then came driving through the area and struck the sedan. Both vehicles were seriously damaged.

Fire department and paramedics officials immediately responded to the scene and found that the driver and passenger of the white sedan had serious injuries and were immediately transported to the hospital. At this time, their conditions are not known.

The person who got out of the stopped vehicle did not sustain harm in the wreck. When police arrived at the scene, they noticed that the driver was showing signs of impairment. Police determined that they were intoxicated at the time and they were arrested.

Police are still working on their investigation into the accident at this time.
