San Francisco, CA. Accident Involving Police Car at Sansome and Pine Streets
San Francisco, CA. (June 30, 2018) – A local and reliable news source reported possible injuries following a crash between two vehicles Friday morning. The collision occurred at the intersection of Sansome Street and Pine Street when a San Francisco police cruiser apparently accelerated in an attempt to beat a red light. The police cruiser reportedly hit a Nissan that was traveling westbound through the intersection.
The impact of the accident pushed the Nissan into a light post on the side of the road. According to the report, emergency crews were quickly on the scene in order to assist the driver of the Nissan who apparently had to be pulled from the wreckage. The driver of the Nissan was transported to a local hospital to be treated for unknown injuries.
It is also believed that two police officers who were in the cruiser at the time were also taken to a nearby hospital as a mere precautionary measure. Currently, the names and specific conditions of all parties involved have not been released. Investigators are working to determine who may have been liable for this accident.
We offer our warmest thoughts and prayers to all those who may have suffered injuries as a result of this crash.

As of right now, it seems fairly clear that the police officer driving the cruiser may have been at fault for this accident. However, i9nvestigators are unlikely to find proof of seriously negligent driving, save for a possible issue of excessive speed. Depending on the results of the investigation, there may be possible grounds for a personal injury claim. While we take pride in our passion for holding negligent drivers liable for the injuries they cause, it is always the victims’ choice to move forward with a claim for compensation.
