Fatal Pedestrian Accident in San Francisco
As obliged by law, motorists are required to decrease the speed of their vehicles and provide the right of way to pedestrians in marked and unmarked crossing zones. Based on this report, officials are unsure if Mr. Jones had been walking in a safe area along Greenwich Street at the time of the accident.
Given the circumstances, many issues surrounding the collision remain unresolved. As part of the ongoing investigation, forensic teams will inspect the vehicle and examine photos of the crash site to determine if mechanical issues or system failure contributed to the crash in any way. Likewise, officials will consider if drugs, alcohol, negligence, recklessness, or distracted driving played any roles in the events leading up to the accident.
Depending on the final results of the investigation, the members of Jones’ family may have the right to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver. By seeking the assistance of a professional lawyer, these individuals can receive compensation for a variety of inconveniences ranging from funeral expenses to the tragic loss of a loved one.
