Wrongful Injuries in California

By law, drivers are obliged to decrease speed and give the right of way to pedestrians in marked and unmarked crossing zones. Given the circumstances, officials are still unaware if the victim had been walking in a safe area along the highway.

As part of the ongoing investigation, forensic teams will examine the vehicle for mechanical issues or system failure and analyze photographs of the crash site. Likewise, officials will consider if drugs, alcohol, negligence, distraction, or recklessness played any part in the events leading up to the crash.

Depending on the final results of the case, the pedestrian may have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit and, ultimately, receive compensation for a variety of issues including painful injuries, medical bills, and vehicle insurance.
