San Francisco Man and Woman Injured in Sonoma County DUI Accident
Michael Hill and Alexandra McConnell-Hill Injured in Crash in Cotati, CA
Cotati, Sonoma County, California (June 18, 2018) – A man and a woman were injured as the result of a reputed DUI accident that took place on Highway 101, near the Gravenstein Highway off-ramp, at around 1:53 PM on Sunday, June 17, 2018. Sources have identified the victims as 64-year old Michael Hill and 60-year old Alexandra McConnell-Hill, both residents of San Francisco. In addition, the culprit has been revealed as 41-year old Santa Rosa local Cesar Eslava-Hernandez, who was accompanied in the vehicle by 28-year old passenger Martha Garcia, also from Santa Rosa.
Additional investigations have revealed that Eslava-Hernandez drove his Honda Civic at incredibly high speeds that afternoon and dangerously swerved through lanes of traffic down Highway 101. Ultimately, the crash took place when Eslava-Hernandez veered into the fast lane and slammed into a Chevrolet Yukon driven by Michael Hill and carrying Alexandra McConnell-Hill. The force of the impact sent the Yukon careening into a Lexus C7200 in the middle traffic lane.
Both Garcia and Eslava-Hernandez sustained burns to their upper bodies. Garcia was rushed to Santa Memorial Hospital for treatment. Following a hospital stay, Eslava-Hernandez was arrested on the charges of DUI and was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol while operating his vehicle.
Following the crash, the Hills were rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment. Michael Hill received non-life-threatening burns to his hands and suffered from minimal pain. However, Alexandra McConnell-Hill sustained more severe burns as well as broken bones.
The driver of the C7200 has been identified as 36-year old Santa Rosa local Brisa Junco. Junco and the other occupants of the C7200 were not injured.
An ivestigation is ongoing into the nature of the accident.
