San Jose, CA. 1 Man Killed by Passing SUV While Running from the Police

San Jose, CA. (July 1, 2018) – San Jose police were reportedly chasing a suspect who was spotted inside a car with a gun when the man ran east across Monterey Road and reportedly tripped over the center median and fell down in the northbound lane of the road. An SUV was driving as the man fell down and struck him, causing fatal injuries.

Police confirmed that the SUV had struck and killed the suspect as the vehicle continued driving without stopping. The man who was struck and pronounced dead at the scene has not yet been identified. The SUV in question is currently being searched for as the suspected vehicle in a fatal hit-and-run.

There was no more information made available regarding this accident, and police are currently looking for the hit-and-run driver. An investigation into this accident is currently ongoing in order to conclusively determine liability.
