San Jose, CA – Boy Killed in Pedestrian Crash on East 3rd Street

San Jose, CA (February 13, 2019) – Police say that a young boy was fatally struck in a pedestrian crash that took place when a vehicle was backing out of a driveway. The accident took place on Monday around 3:45 p.m., according to police.

Police responded and found that the boy was struck when the driver of a vehicle did not see him and continued backing up down the driveway.

The boy was transported to the hospital with severe trauma. He was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. His name and age have not been released.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the boy remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities. At this time, authorities continue their investigation of the accident.
