San Leandro, CA- Fatal Crash on the 580 Fwy (MacArthur Fwy) near Dutton Ave

San Leandro, CA (May 8, 2019)- According to the California Highway Patrol, an accident on Tuesday on the 580 Freeway close to the Dutton Avenue off-ramp killed one person.

The crash happened at approximately 2:30 pm when a white Ford Fusion and a tan Buick crashed on the 580 Freeway in the eastbound lanes. A SigAlert was made at 2:48 after Oakland firefighters arrived at the scene.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. It is also unknown if other vehicle occupants were injured in the crash.

The Dutton Avenue off-ramp was closed until 5:45 pm.
