San Pablo, CA – Crash Leads To An Assault On San Pablo Dam Rd Overpass On I-80
San Pablo, CA (May 5, 2019) – A multi-vehicle collision occurred late Saturday night that led to a man being shot at.
California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this injury accident. According to CHP officers, the crash occurred around 11:19 p.m. near the San Pablo Dam Road overpass on I-80.
The collision involved a black Dodge Charger and a silver Honda Civic, as well as a pedestrian that was walking in the lanes. When CHP arrived they found a man on top of the center divider with injuries consistent from being hit by one or more vehicles.
The victim, a man from Hayward that was driving the black Dodge Charger, told CHP that he was being followed by another car heading eastbound. Both were operating their vehicles recklessly.
The two cars passed San Pablo Dam Road overpass and the Dodge Charger collided with the Honda Civic that was driving in the right lane. The victim then pulled over into the fast lane and left his car. He began to walk on the shoulder when the driver of the Honda Civic got out of the car and shot at him.
Three to four shots were fired and the victim tried to get away by running across the eastbound lanes of traffic. He was then hit by an additional car. Emergency responders were called to the scene to render aid to the injured victim.
We send healing thoughts to the injured victim and his family at this time. Our thoughts are with them all during this difficult time as we hope for a full recovery.
