Sanger, CA – Five Injured in Multi-Car Collision at Highway 180

Sanger, CA (March 5, 2019) – On Sunday, police reported that five people were seriously injured in a multi-car collision that took place on Highway 180 around 8 p.m.

Police say that a teen caused the accident. One of the five victims was identified as a young girl who was taken to a local children’s hospital. Other victims were older and were rushed to local hospitals for treatment.

The suspect who caused the accident was identified as 19-year-old Timothy Butler from Citrus Heights. Butler had been driving a Honda eastbound on the highway when he struck the side of a truck, causing him to veer into the other lane of traffic and crash into five other vehicles.

Police say that Butler had been under the influence of an unidentified drug at the time of the collision. Butler is still in the hospital being treated for injuries but, once he is released, he will be booked in jail.

Authorities continue their investigation of the accident at this time.
