Santa Ana, CA – Four People Killed in Fatal DUI Accident at Fourth Street

Santa Ana, CA (February 18, 2019) – Early Sunday, police reported that two men and two women lost their lives in a fatal DUI accident at a local intersection, where an arrest was subsequently made.

The accident took place at Fourth Street and Tustin Avenue. At the time, 28-year-old Vincent Michael Calvo had been driving his Jeep when he suddenly went through the intersection around 2:30 a.m. From there, his vehicle struck a Chevy pickup truck that had been traveling southbound at the time.

The pickup truck rolled over and caught on fire, which killed all four people inside. The victims who lost their lives have been identified as 31-year-old Jose Alberto Avila-Rosas, 23-year-old Ziomara Zaragoza, 23-year-old Antonio Alonso Santibanez, and 34-year-old Prisma Yuliana Montoya. Avila-Rosas had been driving at the time and all others were passengers.

An off-duty firefighter and his wife had been at the scene and helped Calvo out of his vehicle, who was seriously injured in the accident. He was hospitalized and then taken to jail on $4 million bail.

Police continue their investigation into the matter at this time.
