Santa Ana, CA. Wrong Way Driver Kills 2 People in Fiery Crash on 5 Freeway

Santa Ana, CA. (June 29, 2018) – A devastating collision that occurred early Thursday morning claimed the lives of two people. The collision took place between a motorcycle and a luxury sedan. The motorcyclist has been identified as 36-year-old Hugo Juarez of Santa Ana. According to reports, Juarez was using the northbound carpool lane of the 5 Freeway on his way to work when he encountered a 2002 Jaguar that was driving in the wrong direction.

The accident occurred at around 4:00 a.m. near the 22 Freeway interchange when Juarez’s motorcycle collided with the oncoming Jaguar. Reports stated that Juarez died instantly at the scene after being ejected from his bike due to the impact of the collision. Both the motorcycle and Jaguar caught fire immediately after the crash, and the driver of the Jaguar suffered such severe burns that police have been unable to identify the body. According to California Highway Patrol, no information is available on the driver of the Jaguar.

Hugo Juarez was reportedly the hard working father of two children – a 15-year-old girl, as well as a 13-year-old boy. Juarez will certainly be missed by his family and loved ones while an investigation into this accident continues.
