Santa Barbara, CA – Two Injured in Head-On Collision on Highway 154
Santa Barbara, CA (January 13, 2019) In the early morning of January 13th, a head-on crash happened on Highway 154, just north of San Antonio Creek Road. According to the reports, two vehicles crashed into each other on the highway, which caused one of the vehicles to catch on fire. The impact of the collision was so severe that two occupants were pinned inside of the second vehicle.
When emergency crews arrived to help, they found three people suffering from major injuries and transported them to Cottage Hospital for treatment.
Crews shut down the highway as they investigated and cleared the scene.
Although we are sorry to hear that three people sustained major injuries, we are relieved that no one lost their life in this crash as head-on collisions often result in fatalities. We hope all injured parties fully recover without any complications.
Head-On Collisions in California
According to recent studies, the leading causes of most head-on collisions are inattention and drunk driving, which usually occur overnight. It’s easy for drunk drivers to end up in the wrong lanes because once their blood alcohol levels surpass 0.08 percent, they’re no longer able to drive safely due to blurred vision, slowed reaction times, and unawareness of speed levels.
Because this accident occurred after midnight, the police are checking to see if alcohol or drugs played a role. Depending on their findings, personal injury lawsuits will more than likely get filed with the help of a California personal injury lawyer.
At Brady Law Group, we have helped thousands of clients gain justice after being injured in head-on collisions. We don’t think they should be held financially liable for damages and losses caused by other negligent parties.
