Santa Cruz, CA – Pedestrian Accident on Modesto Avenue Claims Life of One Woman

Santa Cruz, CA (July 22, 2018) – A woman who has yet to be identified was reportedly struck and killed by a motor vehicle Friday afternoon on Modesto Avenue, according to a local and trustworthy news source in Santa Cruz. The fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on the south side of Modesto Avenue apparently took place at around 3:25 p.m.

The initial investigation showed that the woman had been walking along the coastal side of the avenue when she was fatally struck by an Infinity SUV that was heading west on the same road at the time. The reason for the deadly accident is presently unknown.

Responders arrived on the scene shortly after the crash and found the woman on the ground in the 100 block of Modesto Avenue. Unfortunately, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld until family members can be notified.

The driver of the SUV who struck the pedestrian was identified by authorities as Kelsey Knoll, 24, of Mount Hermon. According to reports, the young woman was apparently detained on murder charges for her involvement in the fatal crash.
