Santa Cruz, CA – Scooter Rider Injured after Collision with SUV along Soquel Driver and Chanticleer Avenue
Santa Cruz, CA (August 24, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported a scooter rider sustained injuries after colliding with an SUV along Soquel Drive and Chanticleer Avenue. Officer initially logged the incident a little before 4:00 PM on Wednesday, August 23, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the scooter rider or the motorist involved in the crash has been revealed.
According to the CHP report, an unidentified person had been riding a moped scooter in the Santa Cruz area when, for indeterminate reasons, it was sideswiped by an oncoming yellow SUV at Soquel and Chanticleer. Sometime later, paramedics were dispatched to the crash site and rendered medical aid to the rider, who was later brought to Dominican Hospital to receive treatment.
The current physical condition of the victim was not immediately disclosed.
Following the crash, law enforcement officials discovered the SUV had swerved across the center of the road.
