Santa Maria, CA – Three Injured in Head-On Collision on US-101
Santa Maria, CA (March 21, 2019) – On the morning of March 21st, a head-on car accident happened on Highway 101. According to the reports, two vehicles crashed into each other at 10:46 a.m., right before approaching Betteravia Road. An 82-year-old woman was reportedly driving in the wrong direction for reasons that are still under investigation.
The impact of the collision caused one of the vehicles to flip over onto its roof. When the paramedics arrived, they found two elderly occupants trapped inside the overturned vehicle. They successfully freed the injured victims and tended to them accordingly. They then transported them to Marian Regional Medical Center for further treatment. The wrong way driver was also transported to the same hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
This accident is currently under investigation as authorities work to determine what led up to this dangerous crash.
