Pedestrian Accidents in California
According to data compiled by the California Department of Motor Vehicles, pedestrians account for 22% of all traffic fatalities. This is substantially higher than the national average which is somewhere between 13% and 14%. Unlike drivers and passengers in vehicles who have seatbelts, airbags, headrests, and are surrounded by metal, pedestrians have virtually no protection at all. When a collision occurs between a car and a pedestrian, the pedestrian will always come out on the losing end.
If you have been injured in a pedestrian accident that was caused by someone else’s negligence then you are entitled to receive financial compensation for all of your financial losses such as emergency room visits, follow up doctor visits, ambulance and paramedic charges, physical therapy, prescription drug costs, any other medical bills, missed time from work, pain and suffering, and permanent disabilities.
