Santa Rosa, CA – Pedestrian Man Injured after Accident on Highway 1 near Ocean Drive
Santa Rosa, CA (August 6, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol recently reported that a pedestrian man sustained injuries as the result of an accident that took place along Highway 1 in the vicinity of Ocean Drive. The incident happened at approximately 12:30 AM in the early morning hours on Sunday, August 5, 2018. Authorities have identified the pedestrian as 59-year old Peter M. Howe and the motorist involved in the crash as 51-year old Tricia H. Godwin, both of Fort Bragg.
Based on the initial report from CHP, Howe had been walking along Highway 1 when, for indeterminate reasons, Godwin’s vehicle plowed directly into him. Sometime later, rescue crews were dispatched to the crash site and rendered aid to Howe, who had suffered traumatic injuries from the impact. Later, he was sent to Mendocino Coast District Hospital before being transported via air ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
At the same time, officials did not confirm if Ms. Godwin was injured.
CHP does not believe that a DUI was an instigator in the crash.
Presently, investigators are looking into possible causes. As more evidence continues to surface, more information will be released to public sources.
We extend our most heartfelt prayers and most loving thoughts to Mr. Peter M. Howe and wish him a swift and efficient recovery from his injuries.
