Santa Rosa, CA – Teen Girl Injured After 14-Year-Old Boy Crashes Car Into Building
Santa Rosa, CA (April 6, 2019) – A 14-year-old boy broadsided a car into an apartment building in Santa Rosa on Friday. The accident caused moderate injuries to a teenage girl that was in the area at the time.
CHP came on to the scene with the report that the 16-year old victim was pinned between a car and a building located at 4040 Hoen Avenue.
The driver had crashed the red Kia Optima into the wall of the apartment complex where the girl became caught between the driver’s side door and the vehicle.
First responders came to the scene, freeing the girl and transporting her to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital to be treated for her injuries.
An investigation stated that the girl’s mom had left her and the 14-year-old driver in the running car while she was inside the apartment building at a friend’s place. The boy entered the driver’s seat while the girl stood in the driver’s side doorway to attempt to teach the boy how to drive. The boy put the car in drive and then hit the gas causing the accident.
The boy was cited for driving without a license.
We send healing thoughts to the teenager who was hurt in this accident and hope she makes a speedy and full recovery.
