Santee, CA – Julie Johnson and Jayme Johnson Identified as Victims of Hit-and-Run Accident on Molino Road

Santee, CA (September 1, 2018) – According to a local and trustworthy news source in Santee, two pedestrians who were struck by a hit-and-run driver have now been identified. 46-year-old Julie Johnson was tragically killed while 30-year-old Jayme Johnson suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Molino Road Wednesday night, August 29.

The reports stated that both victims were hit by an alleged hit-and-run driver on Molino Road, in the vicinity of El Nopal. According to the report, three teens occupied a late-model Honda sedan and were reported to have been involved in a verbal confrontation with a resident in the neighborhood prior to the incident. The three teenagers then got into the Honda and took off at a high rate of speed.

The Honda was reported to have jumped a curb, striking the two pedestrians shortly after the confrontation. According to officers, Julie Johnson was admitted to the intensive care unit of a local hospital but sadly succumbed to her injuries. Jayme Johnson was reported to have been transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries and was released the next day.

The suspected hit-and-run driver fled the scene without stopping to help the injured parties. Authorities located the suspect, a sixteen-year-old male who was immediately placed into custody on hit-and-run charges. One other sixteen-year-old was also detained on charges and one other young male, age eighteen is currently outstanding.
