Seal Beach, CA – Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Dump Truck and Corvette on 405 Freeway
Seal Beach, CA (July 19, 2018) – A multi-vehicle crash that was allegedly caused by an erratic driver reportedly occurred in the southbound lanes of the I-405 Freeway in Orange County Thursday morning, according to The California Highway Patrol. The multi-vehicle crash that occurred in the vicinity of Seal Beach Boulevard took place at approximately 7:51 a.m.
The report that was filed by the CHP confirmed that a yellow Corvette was apparently being operated in a reckless manner prior to the crash. The Corvette reportedly caused the collision when it slammed into other vehicles including a dump truck, a black BMW 320i sedan, and a GMC Yukon SUV. A witness reported to police that they saw the driver of the Corvette cross all lanes of the freeway, from the right side to the fast lanes.
Following the collision, the Corvette apparently caught on fire, according to the report. One woman who was riding in the Corvette exited the vehicle and ran the right side of the roadway. The multi-vehicle collision left the vehicles involved blocking two lanes of the freeway, forcing police to issue a SigAlert. There was no more information made available pertaining to the crash or the identities of those involved. The conditions of those involved have not been released, and the cause of the crash is currently being investigated.
We offer our sincerest sympathies to anyone who may have been injured in this accident as we wish for their full recovery.
Orange County Car Accident
At this time, it seems as though the driver of the Corvette is responsible for the crash, although investigators are certainly looking to prove that, conclusively. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, there may be grounds for serious personal injury lawsuits to follow. Nevertheless, the choice to file a claim for compensation is a personal one that may only be made by the victims.
