Silverado, CA – 1 Dead & 4 Critically Injured in Crash on Santiago Canyon Rd.

Silverado, CA (May 25, 2019) – A single-vehicle accident occurred on May 25 just before 2:30 a.m. that took the life of one person and injured four others.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this fatal accident. According to CHP officers, the crash occurred around 2:25 a.m. on Santiago Canyon Rd.

The 19-year-old driver, Joshua Morales of Santa Ana, was killed and his four passengers were critically injured when his Mazda Protege hit a tree after leaving the road for unknown reasons. The car had been heading northbound and traveled through a barbed wire fence and hit the tree.

Emergency responders were called to the scene to render aid. Three men and a woman were transported to local hospitals in critical condition for treatment and further evaluation. Sadly, Morales was pronounced dead at the scene.
