Smith River, CA – Traffic Accident Causes Injuries on Highway 101

Smith River, CA (April 23, 2019) On the evening of April 23^rd, a traffic accident happened on Highway 101 at approximately 5:29 p.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a green Ford Explorer was driving recklessly on the highway when it crossed over into the opposite lane for unknown reasons. The Ford Explorer collided with a tan Volkswagen, which caused the Volkswagen to spin off the roadway and into a small ditch.

When emergency crews arrived at the accident, they found people suffering from unspecified injuries and tended to them immediately.

The police are currently investigating this accident to determine what caused the Ford Explorer to end up in the opposite lane. One of the vehicles involved was believed to have fled the scene after the crash.
