Solano, CA- Freeway Service Patrol Truck Crash Injures Child on the I-80

Solano, CA (May 2, 2019)- An accident involving a white pickup truck and Freeway Service Patrol truck caused significant injuries to a child on Wednesday. The crash happened on the Interstate 80 Freeway at around 3:15 pm near Suisun Valley Road.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the pickup truck steered onto the right shoulder of the road, where it hit a Freeway Service Patrol truck. The Fairfield Fire Department responded to the scene and found a child in the pickup

The truck was significantly damaged and required that the child be extricated from the vehicle. The child was then taken by helicopter to a pediatric trauma unit. Their current condition is unknown.

The Freeway Service Patrol driver was unharmed.

The CHP closed three lanes of the road for an hour.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
