Sonoma, CA – Collision with Tractor-Trailer on Lakeview Highway and Sears Point Road

Sonoma, CA (August 1, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported a collision that occurred between a large, commercial tractor-trailer and an SUV just shortly before noon on Wednesday morning. The injurious collision took place on Lakeview Highway at Sears Point Road at about 11:53 a.m. when the tractor-trailer that was carrying vegetables crashed into the rear-end of the SUV.

Authorities were immediately notified of the accident which may have possibly involved a third vehicle, however, that information is unconfirmed at this time. The tractor-trailer reportedly overturned onto its side following the wreck, subsequently spilling its cargo across the roadway.

Paramedics were called to the scene of the crash in order to attend to any victims. The driver of the SUV along with one other person who may have been another motorist reportedly suffered injuries that were classified as moderate. It was confirmed that at least one of the victims had to be transported to a nearby hospital. There were no indications made as to whether or not the driver of the tractor-trailer sustained any injuries.

Several tow-trucks along with a street sweeper were dispatched to the scene in order to clear the roadway of the vehicles and debris. No further information has been provided concerning the cause of the accident at this time. Authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation into this accident.
