Sonora, CA – Woman Dies in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Highway 108
Sonora, CA (February 17, 2019) – On Friday evening, an unidentified woman lost her life in a fatal pedestrian crash that took place on Highway 108 near Stockton Road.
The California Highway Patrol came to the scene of the accident, where they found that 21-year-old Timothy Hollis had been moving east on the highway in a 2016 Chrysler 200, driving around 50 mph.
The woman suddenly stepped off the shoulder of the road and into traffic, which is when Hollis struck her, claiming that he was unable to avoid her. The impact was so forceful that the woman was thrown into traffic, where she was then struck by another driver, identified as 28-year-old Glenn Gray.
The pedestrian was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
The accident remains under investigation by police at this time.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the party whose life was taken in this accident, with the hopes that they will be able to move forward with hope and comfort.
