Stockton, CA – Driver Dies in Big Rig Truck Accident on Mariposa Road

Stockton, CA (February 7, 2019) On Saturday, the 2^nd of February, a fatal big rig truck accident happened on Mariposa Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda Accord and a big rig truck collided at approximately 5:50 a.m.

The Honda Accord was headed eastbound on Mariposa Road just east of Munford Avenue, while a big rig tractor hauling a flatbed trailer full of steel rods was exiting a driveway on the south end of Mariposa Road. The driver inside of the Honda did not see the tractor trailer combination and crashed into the rear axle of the trailer, which remained in the eastbound lane.

When emergency crews arrived, they found the driver of the Honda suffering from major injuries and transported the injured victim to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, the driver died at the hospital.

Both vehicles were seriously damaged as a result of the crash.

The police are currently investigating all possible factors that could have caused this damaging accident.
