Police will continue to search for the hit-and-run driver. When the driver is located, they will face criminal charges for leaving the scene of an accident. Depending on the results of the crash investigation, the driver may also face civil liability for the crash.  Drivers in California have a legal obligation to remain at the scene of a crash. If a person is injured in the crash, it may be a felony not to remain on scene.
