Sunnyvale, CA – One Person Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101

Sunnyvale, CA – (November 18, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred Sunday morning on a highway in Sunnyvale. The accident took place at approximately 1:11 am on Highway 101 just south of N Mathilda Avenue.

According to the Sunnyvale Police Department, a pedestrian was walking along northbound lanes on Highway 101 when suddenly an oncoming vehicle crashed into the victim. Emergency crews rushed to the scene and performed CPR on the injured pedestrian, but despite rescue efforts, the pedestrian sadly died of the injuries sustained upon impact of the collision. Police are still trying to determine the sequence of events leading up to the accident.

This accident is currently under investigation.
