Temecula, CA – Janet Genao Killed and Mike Rivera-Aguilar Injured in DUI Crash on I-15

Temecula, CA (June 5, 2019) On the 4^th of June, a fatal DUI crash happened on the Interstate 15 Freeway. A 38-year-old named Mike Rivera-Aguilar was traveling in an S-10 pickup truck when his vehicle got struck by two other vehicles who had collided. The impact of the crash sent his vehicle off of the roadway and into a Temecula City Hall parking structure.

The crash initially started when a 25-year-old named Javier Caldera was speeding in a Chevrolet Silverado when he rear-ended a Nissan that was driven by 44-year-old Janet Genao. As a result of the crash, the Nissan sustained major damages. The major collision happened at around 7:30 a.m.

When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they found Rivera-Aguilar suffering from critical injuries and rushed him to the nearest hospital for treatment. Two other men were transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries as well. Unfortunately, Genao passed away at the scene.

Caldera did not sustain any injuries and was arrested by the police for driving under the influence.
