Tracy, CA – Two Big Rig Trucks Collide along Westbound Interstate 580 near Chrisman Road Off-Ramp

Tracy, CA (August 14, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that a violent collision between a minimum of two big rig trucks took place along the westbound lanes of Interstate 580, in the vicinity of the Chrisman Road off-ramp. The accident occurred at approximately 7:15 AM in the morning today, Tuesday, August 14, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash has been revealed.

Based on the report from CHP officials, two semi-trucks were traveling down Interstate 580 when, for indeterminate reasons, both vehicles collided near the Chrisman off-ramp. Officials confirmed the first truck, reported to have been carrying 15,000 pounds of lumber, sustained severe damage to its front end and confirmed its engine skidded across the road as a result of the impact. This report affirmed the second semi-truck also sustained extensive damage.

Sometime later, medical personnel revealed one truck driver suffered severe injuries. Later, the victim was transported by a nearby medical center to receive treatment.

The condition of the second driver was not immediately disclosed.

Since 9:30 AM, investigators have been looking into a possible cause of the crash.

Meanwhile, CHP officers recorded the truck’s license plates as 9C32487 and 4ND7159.
