UPDATE: Burlingame, CA – Inez Barranti Killed in Fatal Car Crash on Golf Course Drive
Burlingame, CA (March 18, 2019) – On the 13th of March, a fatal car crash happened in the area of Golf Course Drive and Black Mountain Road offramp from the northbound 280 Freeway.
According to the reports, a 2016 Volkswagen Golf was headed north on the freeway when it made a left onto Golf Course Drive and crashed into the right side of a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe. The impact of the collision caused the Hyundai to roll over and land on its left side. This dangerous accident took place around 3:40 p.m.
When the paramedics arrived, the 63-year-old driver of the Hyundai and two of his passengers were transported to the hospital for major injuries. One of his passengers, 86-year-old Inez Barranti, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, despite life-saving measures. The 16-year-old driver of the Volkswagen and her 15-year-old passenger were both unharmed.
The police are currently investigating this accident to determine causation and liability.
