UPDATE: Claremont, CA – Enrique Reyes Killed in 15 Vehicle Accident on Interstate 10 Freeway
Claremont, CA (March 25, 2019) On the early morning of March 24th, a 15-vehicle accident happened on the Interstate 10 Freeway at about 1:55 a.m. According to the reports, a 30-year-old man was driving a 2017 Dodge Charger at a high speed when he rear-ended a 2018 Toyota Camry driven by 22-year-old Enrique Reyes. The Toyota was parked in the carpool lane at the time of the crash. The impact of the crash caused the Toyota to end up in the number two lane and strike a Honda Civic that was also parked on the highway.
The Dodge ended up also striking a 2006 BMW 550i, which caused the BMW to crash into a 2007 Mercedes-Benz SL 55 that was stopped in the number one lane. A total of 15 cars collided in this accident.
When the paramedics arrived, they found a total of eleven people injured and transported them to nearby hospitals for treatment. Out of those eleven people, two of them suffered from major injuries. Unfortunately, Reyes succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.
The police are currently investigating this accident to determine what led up to this devastating crash and who will be held responsible.
