Santa Ana, CA –UPDATE: Mike Alcaraz Killed in Bicycle Accident on Standard Ave

Santa Ana, CA (May 7, 2019) On the night of May 5^th, a fatal bicycle accident happened at the intersection of Standard Avenue and East First Street.

A dark gray Dodge Charger struck a 60-year-old bicyclist named Mike Alcaraz at around 8:30 p.m.

When the ambulance arrived at the scene, they found Alcaraz injured in the roadway. They immediately transported him to Orange County Global Medical Center for treatment. Unfortunately, he passed away despite life-saving attempts to revive him.

Authorities are investigating to determine why the driver struck the bicyclist. They’re checking to see whether speed, alcohol, or other factors led up to the crash.
