UPDATE: Yolo County, CA – Romeo Mendez-Lopez Killed in Fatal Head-On Collision on County Road 19

Yolo County, CA (January 29, 2019) On the 25^th of January, a fatal head-on collision happened on County Road 19 at around 6:50 a.m. According to the reports, Romeo Mendez-Lopez was a passenger in a Honda that attempted to pass another vehicle on the road, and by doing so crossed the double yellow divider lane.

The Honda then collided head-on with a Ford driven by a 57-year-old woman named Bonnie Zentner. The impact of the collision caused Zentner’s vehicle to crash into a Chevrolet driven by 40-year-old Jesus Morales.

When the paramedics arrived, they found the driver of the Honda and Mendez-Lopez suffering from serious injuries and transported them to Kaiser Health Care for treatment. Unfortunately, Mendez-Lopez did not survive her injuries. They also transported Zentner to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Morales was the only one who was unharmed from the accident.

The police are currently investigating the accident to determine causation and liability.
