Vallejo, CA- One Dead in Multi-Vehicle Accident on 80 Fwy Near American Canyon Rd

Vallejo, CA (June 26, 2019)- 80 Freeway, east of the American Canyon Road off-ramp, was the scene of a fatal multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday.

The California Highway Patrol noted that the crash, which occurred at approximately 3:11 pm in the freeway’s eastbound lanes, involved a white pickup truck, a red Kia, and a semi-truck. When CHP officers arrived on the scene, they found the vehicles stopped on the roadside shoulder.

Emergency medical personnel arrived at the site and performed CPR on a man found in the grass near the crash. It is unknown if this person was thrown from one of the vehicles or was a pedestrian in the area.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man passed away at the scene. A coroner’s report is expected.

In order for authorities to clear the crash site, a Sig Alert was issued.

An investigation is ongoing.
