Vallejo, CA – Victim of Fatal Crash on 80 Freeway Identified as Renell Dudley Jr.

Vallejo, CA (July 26, 2018) – A local and trustworthy news source in Vallejo reported a crash Monday afternoon that resulted in the death of one man and the critical injuries of another. The deadly collision occurred between three vehicles on the 80 Freeway in the vicinity of Pomona Street at approximately 3:20 p.m. on July 23. The accident took place a little west of the Carquinez Bridge toll plaza. The deceased victim has now been identified as Renell Dudley Jr. of Richmond.

The collision reportedly took place after Dudley’s Dodge Charger crashed into the back of a stalled Isuzu utility truck in the number 4 lane of the freeway. The two drivers were apparently pulled over on the pedestrian rail in order to exchange information when a tractor-trailer crashed into them. The commercial truck slammed into the Isuzu and pushed it into the two men and Dudley’s Charger.

The impact of the collision left both victims with life-threatening injuries as the men were immediately airlifted to John Muir Medical Center. Unfortunately, Dudley passed away from his injuries at the medical center while the other victim, a 22-year-old man from Vallejo was listed in critical condition. One passenger in the Charger along with the semi-truck driver were reportedly unharmed during the incident. All the events surrounding this accident remain under thorough investigation at this time.
