Vallejo, California – Two-Vehicle Traffic Accident on IH 80 and SH 37 Leaves One Motorist Severely Injured

Vallejo, California (June 26, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol has reported that one person sustained injuries following a traffic crash on Interstate Highway 80 at State Highway 37 in the area of Vallejo. The incident took place at approximately 12:30 PM on Sunday, June 24, 2018. Law enforcement has not revealed any information regarding the identities of the drivers involved in the crash.

As per the report, a red Dodge Durango, driven by a 49-year old Vacaville man, transitioned from westbound I-80 to westbound SH-37.  For unknown reasons, he turned the vehicle and plowed into a Honda Accord. As a result of the impact, the Dodge overturned several times before the driver was ejected from his seat.

Afterward, the Dodge driver was transported to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center, where he was treated for traumatic injuries. The current physical condition of the second driver is unknown.

At present, CHP has taken control of the ongoing investigation into the accident. As more evidence begins to surface, more information will be released to public sources.
