Valley Acres, CA – Unspecified Number of Victims Injured after Wrong-Way Collision along Westbound Taft Highway

Valley Acres, CA (August 3, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that an unspecified number of victims sustained non-life threatening injuries as the result of a wrong-way collision between a big rig truck and a car along the westbound lanes of the Taft Highway. The incident occurred at some time last Friday, July 27, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash has been revealed.

CHP initially reported that an unidentified white car had been traveling in the wrong lane, eastbound along the highway’s westbound lanes, before swerving into the direct path of a red big rig truck.

First responders confirmed both motorists had only suffered non-life threatening injuries. The exact number of victims has not been disclosed.

Sadly, CHP did report a dog had died during the impact.

As part of cleanup operations, officials blocked off the Taft Highway to oncoming traffic.
