Ventura, CA – Man Dies after Brutal Pedestrian Accident and Suspected Hit-and-Run Incident along Northbound North Ventura Avenue near Prospect Street

Ventura, CA (August 12, 2018) – A Ventura local news source reported that a man died as the result of a brutal pedestrian accident and suspected hit-and-run incident that took place along the northbound lane of North Ventura Avenue, in the vicinity of Prospect Street. Officers initially logged the incident at approximately 8:37 PM at night on Friday, August 10, 2018. As of today, authorities identified the deceased victim as Michael Pedigo but did not provide any details about the suspect driver.

Based on the report from Ventura Police, Pedigo had been walking among two parked vehicles and onto North Ventura Avenue when, for indeterminate reasons, an oncoming vehicle struck him. Sometime later, medical personnel brought Pedigo to Ventura County Medical Center, where he tragically died from injuries sustained during the impact.

Law enforcement officials confirmed the suspect driver had stopped after colliding with the victim but fled the scene later. Officers possibly identified the vehicle as a 4-door sedan, white in color. As of now, investigators are still looking into a potential cause of the crash.
