Ventura, CA – Three People Injured in DUI Crash at Harbor Boulevard

Ventura, CA – (November 17, 2018) – Three people were hospitalized after an alleged DUI crash in the area of Harbor Boulevard and Peninsula Street. The accident was reported around 11:40 pm in the Pierpont neighborhood adjacent to the Ventura Harbor.

Officials confirmed 18-year-old Matthew Gonzalez was driving a Honda approaching an intersection in the area of Harbor Boulevard when suddenly he struck a Kia. Responding paramedics discovered three occupants in the Kia sustained injuries upon impact of the collision. Fire department officials along with the paramedics rendered aid to the three people who sustained injuries. All three patients were transported by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment. At least one of the victims suffered major injuries upon impact. The names and condition of the injured parties were not immediately disclosed. Police believed that Gonzalez displayed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time the accident took place. The Ventura man was later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.

This accident is currently under investigation.
