Victorville, CA – Authorities Arrest Suspect Responsible for DUI Hit-and-Run Accident at McDonald’s on Mariposa Road
Victorville, CA (August 14, 2018) – Recently, authorities arrested the suspect involved in violent DUI hit-and-run accident that took place in a McDonald’s parking lot on the 12100 block of Mariposa Road. The incident transpired at approximately 12:38 AM in the early morning hours on Monday, August 13, 2018. As of today, the culprit has been identified as 36-year old Hesperia resident Alana Marie Joerger. No details about the male victim have been revealed at this time.
According to the initial report, Joerger had slammed a silver 2007 Honda Accord into the rear end of an unidentified second vehicle. Afterward, the male victim exited the vehicle to look for damage, when, for indeterminate reasons, Joerger plowed into him. Authorities confirmed she had intentionally hit the victim with her vehicle.
The resulting impact inflicted trauma to the male driver’s head. As the original report states, emergency personnel placed him on a gurney, but he refused transportation via ambulance. Later, he drove himself to a nearby hospital. His current physical condition was not immediately revealed.
Officials reported Joerger drove away from the crash site and headed southbound down Mariposa. As she approached the junction at Bear Valley Road, she sped through a red light and plowed into an oncoming semi truck’s trailer. As a result, she was pinned beneath the larger vehicle.
Later, the San Bernardino County Fire Department successfully extracted Joerger, who was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Pending release, she will be arrested for DUI and hit-and-run charges.
We extend our most heartfelt prayers and our most loving thoughts to the male victim and wish him a swift and efficient recovery from his injuries.
