Visalia, CA – Briseda and Nicholas Herrera Killed in Fatal Truck Accident on Hwy 63

Visalia, CA (May 14, 2019) On the morning of May 13^th, a fatal multi-vehicle accident happened on Highway 63, also known as Dinuba Boulevard, and Avenue 336. The collision involved a Toyota, a Honda, and a big rig truck. Initially, the Honda somehow crashed and ended up underneath the big rig, causing the big rig to jackknife and strike the Toyota. The major collision happened at about 8:00 a.m.

When an ambulance arrived at the scene, they found two people inside of the Honda trapped. When they extricated them, the two people had already suffered fatal injuries. They have been identified as 29-year-old Briseda Herrera and 12-year-old Nicholas Herrera. Two people inside of the Toyota were critically injured and immediately taken to a nearby hospital. The truck driver, 57-year-old Juan Carlos Cortez Garcia, did not sustain any injuries as a result of the crash.

The accident is currently under investigation, but authorities believe that there’s a possibility that the Honda was passing another vehicle that was turning left.
