Pedestrian Accidents in California
Between January and June of last year, over 350 people in California lost their lives in pedestrian accidents. The leading cause of these accidents is almost always distracted driving, which includes drivers being on their cell phones or falling asleep at the wheel. There are other instances where drivers may be under the influence or not following the laws of the road. The police are currently investigating the motorcyclist’s state of mind at the time of the accident to figure out if alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash.
If the family is going to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit, then an attorney will help them with proving their negligent act claim. Because the motorcyclist had a duty to be cautious of his surroundings and failed to do so by hitting the pedestrian, which resulted into the pedestrian suffering fatal injuries, then there’s a chance the family could win their case.
