Whittier, CA – Adrian Estrada Arrested for DUI Accident on 60 Freeway Leaving 5 Injured
Whittier, CA (February 19, 2019) – According to police reports, on the morning of February 19th, a DUI accident occurred on the 60 Freeway, near the 605 Freeway, around 2:50 a.m. Two California Highway Patrol officers pulled over to help a stopped vehicle when 23-year-old Adrian Estrada collided with the patrol car. As a result, the patrol car hit the two California Highway Patrol officers and the driver they were helping. The impact of the crash caused Estrada’s car to spin into the middle lanes, where it was hit by another vehicle.
When the paramedics arrived, they found five injured parties and transported them all to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center for further treatment. The two patrol officers are reportedly in stable condition, while two others are suffering from major injuries.
The police arrested Estrada on suspicion of driving under the influence.
We are devastated to hear that five people were hurt as a result of this reckless accident, and we wish them all a full and fast recovery.
DUI Accidents in California
Studies show that most drunk driving accidents occur between midnight and 3:00 a.m., which is when most drivers are leaving clubs, bars, or parties. After consuming a certain amount of alcohol, drivers will experience blurred vision, slowing-down of hand-eye coordination, and loss of ability to make responsible decisions regarding theirs and others’ safety, resulting in delayed reactions to one’s surroundings. Unfortunately, this is why most intoxicated drivers end up on the roads driving reckless, and as a result, thousands of people lose their lives or are seriously injured because of collisions caused by DUI.
At Brady Law Group, we help those who have been injured in DUI accidents pursue all potentially liable parties for damages and losses. We don’t think it is right for our clients to pay for injuries and vehicle damages caused by another party’s reckless behavior.
