Windsor, CA- Multi-Vehicle Fatal Accident on River Rd Near Olivet Rd

Windsor, CA (June 27, 2019)- A multi-vehicle accident on River Road near Olivet Road left one person dead and two hurt on Wednesday at around noon.

Reports stated that the crash, which took place near the Martinelli Vineyards and Winery entrance, occurred when a silver Hyundai Santa Fe traveling eastbound on River Road swerved into the opposing lane, sideswiping a westbound white Ford Ranger. A white Honda CR-V driving behind the Ford attempted to veer away from the Hyundai, but could not, leading to a collision with the truck.

The CR-V driver was killed in the crash. Two people in the Hyundai were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with mild to moderate injuries. The Ford driver was uninjured.

The identification of the deceased has not been released pending family notification.

All of the vehicles sustained damage in the crash. The Hyundai had major front-end damage, the CR-V had major damage to the driver’s side door, and the Ford truck had damaged rear wheels.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
