Wearing Seatbelts in California
According to a 2011 Center for the Study of Disease Control and Prevention report on seatbelt use by state, 93.2% of Californians reportedly use seatbelts. In fact, California law requires that the driver and all passengers must use seatbelts when the vehicle is in motion.
Wearing your seatbelt can be the difference between life and death if you are in an accident with another vehicle. We can rarely predict what other drivers may do. Intoxicated or distracted drivers can cause accidents no matter how attentively you drive.
