Templeton, CA – Emilee Ruiz Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Highway 101

Templeton, CA (March 8, 2019) – 17-year-old Emilee Ruiz was struck and killed in a fatal pedestrian crash that took place on Highway 101 on Tuesday night. The California Highway Patrol investigated the accident around 10:50 p.m.

Police determined that the pedestrian had been walking on the shoulder of the roadway when she suddenly stepped into the path of a Chevrolet Impala. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 60-year-old Bruce Eddy.

The victim suffered catastrophic injuries and paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene.

Police closed down the northbound lanes of US-101 to conduct an investigation. The circumstances of the accident are still being investigated at this time.
